Day 3: Back to Kochi

The alarm woke me up at 3:30. I quickly got ready and woke up Jithin. By this time Jithin's mother made me tea and Pathal ; a special dish of the region (you should note that the time was 4:00 am and his mother did all this within 15 min or so)😍😍.
Jithin dropped me in the bus stand. I was waiting for the bus and that's when it struck me, I don't have enough money to travelπŸ˜–. I quickly ran to the nearby atm. Luckily the atm machine was showing some kind of errorπŸ˜“. I touched here and there on the screen and after wasting 3 SBI transactions I got out the money I wanted. I ran back to the bus stand as I watched in horror as the bus was leaving the bus stand. But somehow I got in.
The bus took me till Kozhikode and from there I took an Ernakulam SF.

It was 6 am when the bus took off. It was one of the most enjoyable bus rides I have ever had. The time, the light, the breeze, the greenery..... all contributed to this.
You could see small girls of age 7-8 walking down the road wearing black Pardha. They were playing with one another. It was such a lovely scene😘. In cities, parents won't allow their 12-year-olds to go across the street. Here people aren't scared of others. No one wants to harm others and everyone trust everyone.
I saw a boy helping his grandmother go to a temple.
Many other small but stunning scenes caught my eyes during the journey, I felt Joyous.
Usually, I fall asleep after 30min into the journey but today was different. I didn't sleep until I reached the end of Thrissur District.
As soon as I reached Ernakulam District I fell asleepπŸ˜….
I reached Ernakulam Bus stand by noon and took an auto. This man was not even smiling, he was honking his horn at every other vehicle. The different was clearly visibleπŸ˜•.
I got home, there was no one to welcome me. But oh god o god.... I was HAPPY.
That marked the end of my first Solo Journey which spanned almost 60hrs.

The journey gave me many experiences and taught me a lot. I couldn't have done it without My Family and Friends😍😍😍😍

Special Thanks to all Gods for looking after me(The real gods and other gods like Food, Music, and Money)

Thanks to Kozhikode Bus Stand for providing such good free accomodation.
Thanks to Indian Railway for providing Wifi and Electricity and Water at very low Cost.

Thanks to Jithin's Family.😘

Last but not the least, thnx to the loving people of KoyikodeπŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

Day 2: Kozhikode to Vadakara

I woke up from the concrete bed and went inside the bus stand. As usual, I went to the latrine. There was a queue behind me and one person in front of me. We waited almost 15min. The guy in the front got restless and went off(poor soulπŸ˜‚). But I still fought with time. It took me another 10 min to notice that something wasn't right. I slowly pushed the bathroom door(scared that I would see a bad KaniπŸ™‚). TADAAAA..... There was no one inside.🀣🀣🀣. Apparently, we were waiting for no one.

After doing necessary works in the latrine😎 I headed out to Railway station to get my phone charged. By now I had a pretty decent map of the city inside my head so it was easy to navigate without my phone.

This would be my last day at Kozhikode and there wasn't much to do today. I couldn't go back home empty handed. So I went into S.M Street/Mittaayi Theruvu and bought many varieties of halwa and chips. My leg was aching and the sun was above my head but roaming around the place was quite enjoyable.

It would be a shame to return from Kozhikode without having Biriyani. My friends had suggested me few places. First I went to Rahmath. Unluckily it was full. For the first time during the journey, I took an auto to Paragon, had a pretty good Mutton Biryani.
Today's stay would be at Jithin's house at Vadakara. So I quickly took an auto to Bus stand. I had nice chat with the auto driver. One thing I like about people here is that they are so happy and dedicated to helping others.
On reaching the bus stand I took a TT bus to Vadakara. Jithin picked me up from Vadakara and took me to his home. On reaching there, I saw his mother and brother in front of his house and his father feeding the cattle.
I hadn't bathed for almost 2 days, I quickly ran into the bathroom and had a nice, slow bath in the cold water😊😊😊 and then took a small nap.

The small nap was too long. We then went to see Craft Village but we were too late(nap...😠😠).
So we went to the Vadakara Sand Banks Beach.
Hahahahahaha...... Here Comes YUFU...... Ansaab YufuπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜‹πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‰πŸ˜†
As usual, Yufu was bragging to his friend when he saw us. Both parties never expected to see each other.
Yufu then started with his 'Vidals"😝😝. He must have said " Idu nammade naada" ateast 20 times.
After showing us around and buying us Sarbath Yufu went off. We then had kallumakaya and unnakaaya from the beach.

We then returned back to Jithin's Home. Me, Jithin and his brother chated for a while. It was funny at the same time interesting to see how Jithin acted all serious and brotherly in front of his brother πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜.
Jithin's mother had prepared Biriyani for me. Thanks aunty😍. It was very tasty.
I hope I could marry a girl from Kozhikode, she will be lovely, pretty(ExperienceπŸ˜‰) and will make some tasty food(though I care for the latter moreπŸ˜…)
I quickly went off to sleep as I had to bus at the 4:00 am tomorrow.
And yes there was actually a good bed and fan for tonight's sleepπŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Day 1: Kozhikode

Initially, my spirits were down because of the heartfelt concerns of my dear friends and family. But all it took was the 'Don't care ' attitude of a single "eee" friend which lifted my spirits... Hihi... 😎

I got on to a bus from KSRTC bus stand Ernakulam at 12:45 which got me into Thrissur. From there I took another one which brought me to Kozhikode.
I reached at Kozhikode New Bus Stand at 5:15.
I enquired for rooms but none fit my budget. At last, I resorted to the KSRTC bus stand itself. , well it is clean and large and no one would notice me here.
I was so so happy to see a latrine there. It was very clean considering they asked me just Rs5 to use itπŸ˜… though every 20-30 seconds people constantly banged on the toilet door. Well I won't complain, only they know what they are going through πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

After taking a nap I decided to check out the place. It was lightly raining,. Well, my mother isn't around to scold me for walking in the rain and mud. So I went on.
The roads are very clean and there are trees everywhere along the roads to give us shade. Pedestrians will have a nice time. There is pedestrian sideway almost everywhere. The climate was excellent (at least for me it was).

I first came across Mananjira Pond which is a man-made pond in the middle of the city. It was a pleasant scene to watch birds flying across the rectangular pond.

My phone's battery was running low. Usually, people go to their rooms to charge but since my room ie; KSRTC bus stand doesn't provide me with such facilities, I went to my 2ndary accommodation ie; Kozhikode railway station. Hihi plz, don't consider me a cheapskate πŸ˜….
I took a Rs.10 platform ticket and went on to find the charging port. I successfully charged my phone to 90% and got some drinking water for freeπŸ˜‰

I walked 3 km to get to the Regional Science Centre And Planetarium. People of all age groups come here but children and students will enjoy the most. The planetarium is nice and the park has rides which explain fundamental physics. There is also a 3D theater. The staff could have been more helpful if they came into brief on different items.

Then I went to this Sarovaram Bio Park. It's very peaceful and serene and is filled with Butterflies and couples😜. Yeah if you are planning to bring someone special, this place would be just perfect.
But families, be cautious 🀑 once  you enter bio park(not the one above but the pic below) you enter a region where even if you walk looking downwards there is 90% chance you will couples smooching(ages don't matter here)πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡

My next destination was Kozhikode Beach. I walked almost 5km to get there.
Oh, I forgot. The following things happened during that walk:-
1. Met a total stranger and made friends with him... Afzal.... Kannur
2. Almost accidentally stepped on a huge yellowish viper (anali). If it wasn't for a biker sent by St George πŸ˜‹ I would have been at Ernakulam by now.
3. Just glimpsed into the Calicut University arts festival.
And Many small small incidents with local people which made me love these Kozhikode people more.

On reaching beach the first thing I noticed was eagles flying just a few feats above my head. Children are flying kites, families, and couples having colorful snacks. I have to say, people here are so romantic πŸ˜…, even here I saw couples sharing love under an umbrella.
I too wetted my legs in the cold sea water and had Ice Passion,πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ a cheap ice cream-like snack.
Then an old lady came to me and said she would read my palm. She shocked me by telling my past and present. It was all true. She said the future too... But it was too overwhelming to be believable ... Hihi🀣

My phone got switched off now due to heavy Navigation it had done for me and photo shoots,πŸ˜….
Now I had to go to Railway station to get it charged again. On my way, I passed by Bazar street. God, it's huge... Really really huge.
I reached the station, took another platform ticket and put the phone to charge. The almost 20km walk was taking it's tall. My right knee was under pain.
I had plans for the evening. So I stopped charging and went to Crown theatre for watching Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 at 7pm.

After the movie my leg was almost immovable due to pain. Still I walked to the KSRTC for the night's sleep and on the way had a pretty nice sandwich and crusher.
Sleeping in the chair is impossible at some times. With no other option, I took my bag and walked to the entrance of the bus stand. I found a few homeless people lying down there. Since there was little space left, I and another guy(who apparently has a huge leg injuryπŸ™„) shared the floor and had a good night's sleep.

Day 0: Making Up my Mind

The whole so-called 'idea' was the byproduct produced by the boredom gifted to by the 2-month semester break.
The first decision to be made was the Destination; South, Central or North Kerala.
Since I am from Kochi there is no point in selecting Central....hi hi... No offense but Kochi is the main attraction of central Kerala and even whole Kerala.
South?... Trivandrum; I have visited the place plenty + I don't like their attitude..... I may be stereotyped on that.
North? I just had a glimpse of that region and I would really like to explore it more + I like people's  attitude there..... I may be stereotyped on that too but so are many of others.
So it's fixed. Kozhikode it is. Calicut.
I am scared at the same time pretty excited for not knowing anything about everything.
Just know that I am going to Koyikode.
Don't know the mode of transportation.
Don't know accommodation, food, etc.
And not planning to carry any money.
